I’m alive!

a photo I took about two months ago. reconnecting!

Well well well. It’s been a solid 7 months since I last posted to The Electric Oracle; for that I am very sorry. I doubt anyone was too heartbroken about my absence, but lack of consistency is irritating.

If you’ve been following me on social media, you’ll have seen that (a) I’m far more active on Twitter and Instagram than anywhere else, (b) I do still make YouTube videos occasionally, and (c) photography is my main interest right now. I absolutely love photography; I’m pretty definite it’s what I want to pursue in the future. I’m still not sure if I want to be a photographer, per se, but I know it’s the field I want to work in. You can follow my efforts at http://www.instagram.com/clodafoto.

Enough about me! How are all of you? I really hope you’re happy and healthy as can be. Do leave a comment down below, I’d love to hear from you.

I may or may not do a few more written posts on here over the coming weeks; photography really is my main focus right now. No promises, but I’m not saying no to anything either.

Thanks for reading this (arguably unnecessary) ramble!

Love and luck,

Clodagh X

optic (v) – zap

Zap of colour, zap of light. There’s something about these photos that reminds me of a train of thought; if you’re anything like me, you know what it’s like to have 400 thoughts spinning around your head at once. I feel that the first photo in particular is an accurate representation of my brain almost all the time.

optic (iv) | melting mazes

Would you believe it, the snow has returned to Ireland! This happens so rarely that I had to document it.

This period of time also marks the beginning of the end of my college career; perhaps the title ‘melting mazes’ has a double meaning. I hope that this is the end of so much confusion, doubt and entrapment. I didn’t enjoy my chosen degree at all.

I know that leaving college will probably bring even more uncertainty my way, but let’s cross that bridge when we come to it…

And, of course, happy belated St. Patrick’s Day! Or as we say in the Irish language, ‘Lá ‘le Pádraig sona daoibh’ (law leh paw-drig sun-ah deev).

Love and luck,

Clodagh X

optic (iii) | unexpected heaven

Snow and the month of March do not go hand in hand (in Ireland, anyway), but over the past week the whole country has been blanketed in white. Personally I adore snow, hence the title above. Who knows when we’ll see it again?

optic (i) – ages

As you may remember, I said I was going to start posting ‘photosets’ more often. Well, here we are! I’ve decided to call the series ‘optic’. The following pictures were taken at Blessington Lakes, just outside Dublin (Ireland).

‘ages’ ; nature, lifetime, the nature of life.

christmas + new(-ish) platform

I hope you all had wonderful Christmases. If not, I hope the New Year is far more prosperous.

I adored every second of Christmas, it was one of my favourites from recent years! My ‘big’ present or so to speak was a new camera. I’ve wanted a decent camera for about three years now, but this was the year that I decided to take the plunge. So far I am loving it, so much so that I’ve set up a new Instagram account for it – @clodafoto (shameless plug number 47828364…)

This is a sample of the kind of photos I’ve taken so far:

I intend on posting photos to The Electric Oracle too, something I haven’t really been doing up to now.

Until the New Year,

Love and luck,

Clodagh X

I am 22 | getting older

This week – on the 26th September, to be precise – I turned 22. In all honesty, I had a lovely birthday surrounded by the people I love, and for that I am incredibly grateful.

What made me a feel just a little bit melancholy was the realisation that I am getting older. This was my first real birthday as an adult; the years between 18 and 21 are still youthful, in my opinion. 22 sounds like an age where you should have everything together. Realistically I know that very few people in their early twenties actually know what they’re doing, but it can definitely seem as though they do. I’ve yet to hit that sweet spot of wisdom and selflessness. My best self.

I get glimpses of it occasionally. Feeling confidence in the way my jacket sits on my shoulders. Not overthinking every smile and gesture that comes both from me and towards me.

Anyway. This is definitely something I’ll write more about, but for now I’ll leave you with a song that encompasses the above. Coincidentally, it’s one of my favourite songs of all time, something you’ll know if you watched my 50 Facts About Me video (shameless plug number 47472…).

Love and luck (and apologies for the late post!),

Clodagh X

six hundred of you | gratitude + shameless plug

I hadn’t planned on posting today, but a teeny tiny celebration is in order –  thank you for 600 followers?! Having made it to 500 I thought it would take a lot longer to break another hundred, but the internet can be unpredictable at the best of times. Thank you so much for being here, I appreciate it beyond words.

Since I don’t have a whole lot to say, I thought I’d just remind you all of where else you can find The Electric Oracle;
